Hold That Thought

Is it DUSTy in here?

Published about 1 year ago • 1 min read

Every Thursday I share three useful things to help you turn overthinking into expert thinking. Here are this week’s picks:

1.

When I get those procrastination feelings, I find the DUST acronym helpful. Next time you're feeling similarly, ask yourself if you're finding the task…

  • Difficult
  • Unclear
  • Scary
  • Tedious

Then use these tips from Think Productive to work through it

For more acronym fun, see previous newsletters on WAIT, HALT, and HMM…

2.

Annie Duke is a Professional Poker Player and the author of Thinking in Bets. She was on the Coaching for Leaders podcast to talk about her State and Date method for quitting stuff faster

3.

“No matter what anyone says, you can watch Netflix and still run a business.”

This and 29 other quick mindset tips for side-hustlers from Jessica the TechBizGurl

Here's another good one from her list:

“Just because you have the time to do something doesn’t mean you have the energy.”

The reverse is also true. Sometimes we have lots of energy for something but not the time. Perhaps the opposite of DUST? These things can be a different kind of distraction.

What are your thoughts here?
