3 useful things every Thursday to help thinkers of all kinds gain clarity, get unstuck, and make great progress on what matters most.
Tip of the iceberg

This week I've been thinking about what it means to have a something (and someone!) supporting our vision — even if we don't know what that is yet. Here are three things on that theme to turn mental energy into meaningful action:
In this 5-minute video, Simon Sinek neatly sidesteps a language trap around Vision Statements to zero in on 3 things you must consider to make it meaningful. Bonus: take another minute to hear Simon's vision and why it's an iceberg (and yours is, too).
“While a niche is static and focused on the present, a vision is dynamic and forward-looking. It projects a reality that is yet to be created.” — Veronica Llorca-Smith on why you should ditch the niche and build a Vision instead
I wholeheartedly believe in having a clear Vision. Which is why I've created something specifically for you, Reader: early access to my FREE Vision Statement crafting course! In this free mini-course, I will guide you through simple exercises to create a clear, motivating Vision Statement for your brand, business, or personal path…in just 5 days:
The first seed of my new Vision Crafting course was inspired by work I did with Zoe Edwards. Back in 2021, she was just starting out with her podcast, and, in her own words was “floundering and barely keeping up with myself, unable to look forwards.”
Through our work together, she was able to define her personal manifesto which continues to give her “a strong underpinning for everything that I do.”
Today, she's a successful podcaster of two great shows, Check Your Thread and Can I Dig it? with growing communities around each.
I was recently back on her podcast again, this time with other guests as we explored Gretchen Rubin's Four Tendencies framework. Here's the fun little quiz so that you can find out whether you're a Questioner (like me!), an Upholder, Obliger, or Rebel.
I hope this has inspired you to start thinking about what's underpinning all that you do, aka, the hidden bit under the water.
If you want some personal support in discovering more of what's underneath, I'm always here for you
Or maybe you want to have a go on your own, or with ChatGPT. I explored this last week, zeroing in on the pitfalls of AI coaching.
Even if that convinced you of the benefits of working with a human coach for your personal development, there are still a few questions you’ll want to ask
Ever diving deeper, Kim
PS. In putting this one together, I also got curious about the etymology of iceberg. Now you know.
