“When you make your thinking visible — through writing, projects, conversations, or experiments — you create a totally different kind of signal.” — a valuable reminder by career strategist Mindaugas Petrutis about the career game you didn't know you were playing
Thanks to those who voted in last week's poll. That's given me the steer I needed for an upcoming offering; please stick around for more on that.
Another thing I've been thinking about lately is how hard it is to find good service providers (we're currently buying a house, so there's been a lot of searching of various kinds these days).
One thing I've been lacking is knowing which questions to ask. To weed out the unserious and unprofessional. To make good choices. To find the right fit for what I need.
It's the same for coaching. From outside of the industry, it's a minefield to identify exactly who might help you turn insight into action. So I wrote a short guide with helpful questions to ask before you invest your time, money, and trust in a coach (and another post with my answers): Red flags, green frogs flags
I hope that's useful. Also, if you have any questions you'd recommend asking for someone who is after what you do, I'm curious to hear them. Or, questions house-buyers should be asking related service providers; that would be particularly helpful right now.
Thanks for reading and have a great rest of your week! Kim
