Hold That Thought

Your favorite chair

How's that chair you're sitting in?

This week I've been thinking about sitting. Mostly in chairs. Here are three things on that theme to help turn overthinking into expert thinking:

  1. Take a deep dive on how to transform overthinking with me and Kate Johnson on the Comfy Chairs podcast
  2. On peaches and park benches – a reminder for the young, by Michael Thompson
  3. A very simple and straightforward grounding exercise, led by Julie Marshall on YouTube. All you need is a chair.

Extra thoughts…

For the first three years of this decade / the pandemic / building my business, I did it all from a cheap £8 IKEA chair. Let's just say, it wasn't ideal.

Recently, I majorly upgraded to the Pipersong cross-legged chair and I couldn't be happier. I'm short, hypermobile, and perpetually restless, so this is the chair for me. Plus, sometimes Terry the Pug joins me on the footrest.

Think that chair was weird? Here's 120 stranger ones, from BoredPanda

What's the story with your chair?

Kim

I could look across the room and say, “I see that chair you're in. It looks like it needs better support at the front.” But that's not my job as a coach. My job is to help you see for yourself what needs doing.

I help you lift the burden and gain new perspective. I support and guide your thinking, so that you can see what's really going on with your situation. You decide what you want to do about it, and I am there to advance your thinking even further.

Let’s pull up our chairs and start thinking together
