Retreat is not defeat
This week I've been thinking about how to keep my heavy head held high, dealing with the distractions of the wider world, and focusing on doing the work. Here's three things that might help you turn overthinking into expert thinking, too:
- “The next time you catch your internal self-doubt as a response to external noise, remember the story of the little koala” — Michael Thompson
- “Silence is not only golden. It makes you think. And we need more time to think during these uncertain times.” — Tim Denning
- “Work—the action of change, the movement of energy from one being to another—is the means by which f*cks are granted” — Mandy Brown
Extra thoughts…
Even before yesterday's election news, I've been in a more pensive and retrospective place. One mantra that's been helping me make peace with playing more quietly is retreat is not defeat
What's been helping you?
This week's unthinking link comes from ambiphone — block out the wider world and get focused with your own custom sound mix. I quickly made cat cave crackle, which is creepier than I intended, but pretty neat nonetheless!
Be well and look out for each other,
Kim
