Hello Reader,
In this last newsletter of the year, I wanted to share something different, simple, and self-contained. Because it’s possible to stay calm and find some peace and quiet while the chaos and buzz of the season swirls around you. To be unflappable against the demands of a dwindling year.
Here are three things that might help with that:
- I was having dinner last night with my friend, Ben Sauer — he’s a public speaker, coach, and the author of Death by Screens. Our conversations are deep, hilarious, and always take us to interesting places. At one point, we asked each other, “What would you like to be feeling, saying, and doing this time next year?” It generated some great reflection and responses. I’m curious about the first thing that came to mind for you.
- This next prompt comes from Claire Pedrick’s excellent coaching supervision community — it was too good not to share! I’ve adapted it to make it relevant to you: How are you feeling about your work right now? What is ready to be set down? What is waiting to be picked up?
- Lastly, as we all start to chuck things over the metaphorical fence into 2026 — some with purpose, others we just won’t get to — one thing we can do to reduce the stress of it all is to add a bit of intention. Giving ourselves the choice offers a feeling of control; we’re deciding the fate of this meeting, project, or goal. So, if you have two minutes, make a list: What have you already tossed into 2026, unconsciously or otherwise? (And what will you add to your list?)
Hope this freed up a little space for you. At the very least, one less email.
