Splinter

Ideas underneath
This week I've been thinking about splinters, and what to do about them. Here are three things on that theme to turn overthinking into expert thinking:
I am always surprised by how I can believe an idea so staunchly until a tiny splinter of doubt wedges its way in and shifts all focus to this new foreign object. Before I know it, all efforts are redirected, and the carefully constructed belief bubble in my mind has been pierced and deflated. In the rubble are new thoughts, begging to be gathered and blown up again. Here is a list of the splinters that got in and changed my thinking in 2024
Speaking of ideas that got under my skin, I just finished Yuval Noah Harari's book Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks from the Stone Age to AI. It was nothing short of incredible and it's reconfigured how I think about everything from Americans to zoos and beyond. I'm currently reading Wintering (I'm making a whole season out of it). What should I read next?
What have you changed your mind about recently? I'd love to hear!
Keep on thinkin', Kim
