We're all pancakes.
Hello Reader,
These past two weeks I've been thinking about models – as lenses, as metaphors, as roles I look up to. Here are three things on that theme to turn overthinking into expert thinking:
For this week's underthinking link, feel free to ffffidget. Thinking score: 2 out of 10.
Extra Thoughts…
Speaking of firsts, the first draft of Lens Not Label went off to the publisher last Friday 🥳
Copernicus and his brilliant but flawed model is one of many stories in the book, illustrating different ways of thinking about things. Through many conversations this week, it's been especially relevant. Which has got me thinking about those of us attempting something new or different. Our traditional models might not be helpful here.
So, one question I've been asking myself and others is this:
As you go about your new thing, who are the role models leading the way?
They might not come from typical sources. They might only known in smaller circles. Heck, they might not even be people!
Whoever or whatever they are, go find them and make them visible.
